Our Story

A Legacy of Tradition

Since 2001, Gong He Guan has been a cornerstone of Singapore's traditional Chinese dessert scene. Nestled along Upper Cross Street, our shop carries forward a craft that spans generations — the art of making Guilinggao and other heritage desserts by hand.

The Craft

Our Guilinggao is slow-cooked for over 12 hours using 18 types of traditional herbs. This painstaking process preserves the full potency of every ingredient and produces a herbal jelly of unmatched depth and flavour. We use no artificial colorings, no preservatives — only the same methods and ingredients that have been trusted for centuries.

Our Values

Ethical Sourcing

We work directly with trusted suppliers to source premium herbs and natural ingredients, ensuring quality and sustainability in every bowl.

100% Vegetarian

Our entire menu is plant-based. We honour the vegetarian roots of traditional Guilinggao, making our desserts accessible to all.

Community First

For over two decades, we've served the local community with warmth and dedication. Our shop is a gathering place for regulars and newcomers alike.

Preserving Tradition

In a rapidly changing culinary landscape, we remain committed to the traditional methods that define authentic Chinese dessert-making.
